IN THE HEART OF NATURE Casa do Vidoeiro - Serra da Freita, is located at 1020 meters of altitude in the middle of the Freita plateau, Natura 2000 network. An old forest house completely rebuilt with the comfort and functionality of its visitors in mind. Designed to support lovers of nature sports, internships and sporting gatherings, or other types of events, or simply to enjoy moments of relaxation and tranquility!

Facilities

The house consists of 2 floors. The lower floor has 4 bedrooms, a common room with a wood burning stove, bathroom, and shared kitchen. The upper floor has a large space with 10 single beds. All rooms have central heating. In the outdoor space you will find a men's and a women's changing room block, consisting of 6 showers, 4 toilets and 4 washbasins. You can also enjoy a barbecue with 2 dishwashers with hot water! A natural swimming pool and an artificial lake are also at your disposal.

Location and surroundings

Casa do Vidoeiro is located in the parish of Cabreiros, municipality of Arouca, in the beautiful Serra da Freita. Freita spreads its green mantle across the lands of Arouca, São Pedro do Sul and Vale de Cambra. Its magic, its easy enchantment, the air of lost paradise that it reveals to those who delve into it, make the «Serra Encantada» one of the mandatory crossing points and stops in the Arouca Geopark. Crossing its paths means meeting points in the history of these lands, such as Mamoa da Portela da Anta, small villages that fit into the landscape, unique phenomena in the world, such as Pedras Parideiras, and breathtaking landscapes, such as near Frecha da Mizarela. Along the plateau, we find 17 of the 41 geosites of the Arouca Geopark, unique conditions for practicing some adventure sports and hiking trails that guide us through the unique beauty of this mountain range.
