"The Serra de São Mamede Natural Park" is located in the District of Portalegre . It was the first region in the country to study rock art in detail. One of its great riches is the fauna and flora. Here we can find deer, wild boar, vultures, kites, vultures, genets and otters. Also in this nature reserve we can find one of the largest colonies of bats in Europe.
