Luar Douro Guest House is located in Várzea de Trevões, a small, peaceful village in the municipality of São João da Pesqueira, in the heart of the Douro region. Surrounded by vineyards, rural landscapes and traditional villages, it is an excellent starting point for exploring the Douro at a leisurely pace. São João da Pesqueira is around 11 km away, and villages such as Ervedosa do Douro and Espinho do Douro are also nearby. From the house, guests can discover wine estates and producers, viewpoints, restaurants serving traditional cuisine and several of the region's best-known towns, such as Pinhão, Peso da Régua and Foz Côa. The area is particularly well suited to wine tourism, drives along the Douro's scenic roads, walking, cycling, nature and relaxation.
