Summary

Casa Principal is a traditional granite farmhouse in the countryside of central rural Portugal. The self-contained, ground floor 74sqm apartment is spacious and comfortable. It has its own entrance with driveway parking and the private solar heated swimming pool/patio/bbq & garden are directly outside the apartment for exclusive use of apartment guests, the pool is open from April to October but out of season you have a seperate private patio area with outside kitchen, bbq and jacuzzi.

Facilities

This self-contained apartment is on the ground floor of our traditional Portuguese granite farmhouse situated in the middle of a rural farming community surrounded by beautiful countryside with villages, mountains and rivers to explore. The apartment is spacious and comfortable and being granite makes it always lovely and cool in the summer, warm in the winter. It has its own private entrance with driveway parking for one car. The apartment leads directly to the patio area with BBQ, covered seating area, eating area and sun beds and enjoys the sun all day long, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peace of rural Portugal. The pool is 9 x 5m and heated via a solar cover, it is 2m at the deep end and perfect for a dip at any time of the day. The garden is fully fenced, gated and full of fruit trees, shrubs and flowers. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with oven/hob, coffee machine, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The lounge area has comfortable sofas to snuggle up on, MEO satellite tv, and a DVD player. There is a separate dining area which seats 6 comfortably. There is a pellet burner fire and sir conditioning unit to provide heat at cooler times of the year Bedroom 1 has a double bed; Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds which can be joined to make a large double. In the lounge there is a large sofa bed. Both bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe and storage space for your clothes and comfy mattresses. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. All windows have fitted flyscreens. Smoking permitted outside. There is access to a laundry room. Daily prices are for up to 4 people, over 4 people up to 6 it is 35 euros per person per night extra.

Location and surroundings

Brejo is a small village in the middle of a rural farming community surrounded by beautiful countryside with villages, rivers and mountains to explore. It is only 5 minutes from Tabua which has all the amenities of a Portuguese town including supermarkets, cafes/restaurants, hospital/health centre etc. The Sunday morning market is well worth a visit for a breakfast of bbq’d chicken/pork! Within the local area there are fantastic river beaches and the Serra da Estrela mountains to visit. It's a great area for cycling and hiking The silver coast is just over an hour to travel as well as major cities Coimbra (1 hr) and Tomar (1.5 hours).

Additional conditions

We (2 humans, 2 labradors, 6 ducks and a cat!) live on site in the first floor of the farmhouse but have our own outside private courtyard and back garden enabling you to have full and exclusive use of the pool and front patio/garden area. Out of season there is also a hot tub available for your use as the pool will be closed. We are here to help and answer any questions but we will respect your space and not intrude on your privacy. During the summer months we may have guests staying on the first floor of the house with their own seperate entrance, parking and garden area with hot tub at the back of the house
