On this bridge it is possible to place the so-called ties of friendship and it gained this popular designation due to the informal initiative of two students from the University of Aveiro who, in 2004, began to hang ties on the guardrails of the wooden bridge, as a symbol of love or friendship, leaving the challenge to anyone passing by to repeat the gesture.
